Important Safety Information

Always check for overhead obstructions before covering and uncovering.

NEVER allow anyone to stand in the path of the arms when arms/tarp is damaged. Arms/tarp could come loose allowing the swing arm to freely rotate.

NEVER stand near damaged arms/tarp




Routinely inspect tarp and swing arms for broken or damaged parts.

DO NOT operate with repaired arms/castings. Repaired arms/castings could fail.

DO NOT operate if parts are broken or damaged. Broken or damaged parts may come loose unexpectedly and allow the arm to rotate with tremendous force. Secure parts and have repairs made IMMEDIATELY.

DO NOT operate if the swing arms fail to rotate freely under normal operation for any reason. Discontinue use until repairs or replacements can be made.

The spring and swing arms are under extreme spring tension. Broken or damaged components could cause death or serious injury.

Keep all clothing clear of moving parts.

Swing arms rotate under extreme spring tension. DO NOT operate while anyone is standing in the path of the arms.

DO NOT stand in the path of or on the arms, or injury could occur.

Tarp MUST be fully covered or uncovered before driving. If not properly positioned (completely covered or uncovered) damage could occur from overhead obstructions.

Tarp MUST be fully covered or uncovered before driving.


Manual Operation Instructions

Crank handle is only for uncovering.
Remove and store crank handle when not in use.

Face vehicle into the wind during operation.
Wind may cause tarp to sail and damage system.

COVER UNIT – Keep brake handle engaged to provide braking action while releasing (covering) the tarp. If handle is released too soon while covering, damage may occur.

Electric Operation Instructions

Face vehicle into the wind during operation.
Wind may cause tarp to sail and damage system.
NOT releasing the switch when the covered or uncovered position is reached may cause the motor to burn out.

SWITCH
Direction switch operates depending on how it is wired.

REMOTE OPERATION

To operate the remote, disable the safety lock out by pushing both buttons for 2 seconds.

NOTE: After 1 minute of not pushing a button on the remote the safety lock out is activated.

The swing arms rotate under extreme spring tension. Before making any repairs, see repair instructions “Properly Releasing Spring Tension” and properly release spring tension.

Take care repairing systems with broken or damaged parts, including the tarp. Broken or damaged parts could come loose unexpectedly and allow the swing arms to freely rotate with tremendous force. Secure broken or damaged parts until spring tension is released.

Follow industry safety guidelines when making any repairs.

Maintenance Recommendations

Aero Industries recommends a weekly inspection of the following items:


Replace all worn or broken parts immediately.
Repairs must ONLY be made after proper instruction.
  • Inspect Tarp for wear and tears.
  • Inspect Arms for damage (cracked, dented or bent).
  • Nuts & Bolts: Make sure all mounting bolts and nuts are in place and tight and that no parts are worn or damaged.
  • Bearings: Pull the shafts from side to side and in and out . If there is excessive play, replace the bearings. Lubricate as often as necessary with penetrating oil. DO NOT use an excessive amount of lubricant.
  • Electrical Connections: Check all the electrical connections and tighten any loose connections.
  • Safety Labels: Clean labels with soap and water. Replace if damaged and/or difficult to read.

This Safety Label part #0920-039001 should be attached to the swing-arm near the springs. To receive a label or replace a damaged label contact Aero Industries Inc.
