Aeroforce S2S Repair Instructions (Grain)

Repair Instructions

Properly Releasing Spring Tensions

The following are two methods for properly releasing spring tension.

Normal Operation

Will return to fully covered position

This repair instruction describes how to properly release the spring tension from the AeroForceĀ® S2S system when the tarp is fully covered.

1)Make sure trailer is fully covered and tarp is fully unrolled

2)Remove the negative lead from the battery.

Parts are still under tension. Always support the pivot assembly and AeroMax motor pivot assembly when not attached to the roll pipe.

3)Roll Return Internal Tensioner At the rear of the trailer unhook the rope for the Internal Tensioner.

4a)Roll Return ForceLink Remove the screws that attach the roll pipe.

4b)Roll Return ForceLink Supporting the pivot assembly, remove from roll pipe and carefully lower the pivot assembly to the neutral position.

5a)Roll Return ForceGrip Loosen the collars front and rear of the arm.

5b)Roll Return ForceGrip Supporting the pivot assembly, remove the outer collar then pull the arm from the roll pipe and carefully lower the pivot assembly to the neutral position.

6)Remove the collar on the shaft in front of the Torque Amplifier. Remove the nut and bolt connecting the shaft.

7)Support the AeroMax motor and arm assembly and pull the roll pipe shaft out. Carefully lower the arm assembly until all tension is released.

8)Replace the damaged components and assure the system is restored to factory specifications.

9)Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test for proper operation.

Failed Operation

Will NOT return to fully covered position due to loss of power or damaged components

This repair instruction describes how to properly release the spring tension from the AeroForceĀ® S2S system when the tarp is unable to reach the fully covered position.

1)Remove the negative lead from the battery.

NOTE: Determine whether it is a front arm assembly or rear arm assembly that is damaged. If the rear arm assembly is damaged, the tension can be released and the front arm assembly can be operated to unroll the tarp.

The pivot assembly must be secured on the front and rear arms. Rear roll return must be disconnected before removing the roll bar and tarp. If the Pivot assembly is damaged, make sure the come-a-long is securely attached between the damaged area and the pivot point. There must NOT be any damage between the attachment point and the pivot point. Not doing this may result in the pivot assembly breaking and pivoting, releasing tension with extreme force.

2)Attach come-along to the front arm assembly, on the lower pivot assembly and the other end to the trailer on the side the tarp is anchored.

3)Tighten the come-a-long until the arm assembly is secure.

4)Roll Return Internal Tensioner At the rear of the trailer unhook the rope for the Internal Tensioner.

The come-a-longs are now retaining the force of the pivot assembly and spring tension. Use great care and make sure you understand how to operate the come-along before adjusting.

5a)Roll Return ForceLink Attach come-along to the rear arm assembly, on the pivot assembly and the other end to the trailer on the side the tarp is anchored.

5b)Roll Return ForceLink Tighten the come-a-long until the pivot assembly is secure.

5c)Roll Return ForceLink Remove the screws that attach the roll pipe.

5d)Roll Return ForceLink Supporting the pivot assembly, remove from roll pipe and carefully lower the pivot assembly to the neutral position.

6a)Roll Return ForceGrip Attach come-along to the rear arm assembly, on the pivot assembly and the other end to the trailer on the side the tarp is anchored. Tighten the come-a-long until the arm assembly is secure.

6b)Roll Return ForceGrip Loosen the collars front and rear of the arm.

6c)Roll Return ForceGrip Supporting the arm assembly, remove the outer collar then pull the arm from the roll pipe carefully lower the pivot assembly to the neutral position.

6d)Roll Return ForceGrip With the pivot assembly in the neutral position, the come-a-long can be safely removed.

7)Support the AeroMax motor and arm assembly, pull the roll pipe shaft out. Carefully lower the arm assembly until all tension is released.

8)Replace the damaged components and assure the system restored to factory specifications.

9)Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test for proper operation.
