Aero Family Values
A foundation of strong relationships upholds strong partnerships, trust and a culture of quality
Fueled by family values for over 80 years, Aero prides itself on being a relationship builder. Long-term bonds with customers, employees and community members have established Aero’s reputation as a trustworthy partner.
From Aero’s start, the Tuerk family made their customers a part of the Aero family. Robert Tuerk, who led Aero from the 1960s to the 1980s, believed in cultivating relationships. Robert’s son and current Aero Executive Chairman Jim Tuerk said, “My dad was a genuinely nice man. He was an inventor. He was a rainmaker. But he was a salesman first.” When he made his sales calls, Robert listened carefully. He created products to meet customer needs, which never would have been possible without the personal connections he built.
Aero continues to nurture those relationships just as Robert did, treating each customer with respect and listening carefully to understand their needs. “It’s a family-owned business,” Aero Senior Product Manager Ron said. “You’re not a number here. Everybody knows who you are. They know you by your first name.” Unlike larger companies, Aero retains the quality of care that people respond to. “At Aero,” Ron continued, “we have great relationships with the customers and end users.”
Aero’s emphasis on long-term relationships creates a feeling of being part of something bigger, of treating everyone, both internally and externally, with honesty and integrity. Montserrat, supervisor on the box line, said, “We work as a family. We look out for each other. We support each other.”
Behind our great products are great people who care about each other as much as they care about a job well done. Robert Tuerk’s small acts of care have grown into a company culture with forward momentum. “It’s not just a job,” said Matt, chief commercial officer. “It’s a family outside of your immediate family. It makes me proud to be here.”
Innovation is in Aero’s DNA, but relationship-building is a key part of its continued success. “Our people understand the product,” said Jim Tuerk. “They understand the customers. If a customer comes to them with a problem, they’re the ones that can provide the solution.”
